Our beautiful Bungalow Home Samon's Village

We left Phnom Penh from the bus station for the 120 odd km drive to Kampot. The traffic was impossible while leaving the city, but little did we know that as the traffic disappeared behind us so did the road. We were bounced around like clothes in a tumble dryer. Just as you think the road has found you once more it disappears and you are back being tossed from one side to the other. It was great to see the bus station appear from around a corner
We took a Tuk Tuk to Samon's Village, immediately we were made to feel welcome and the City rush was swopped for the clam of this sublime spot on the river. Bungalow no 8 has become home for three days, we dropped the rucksacks and moved to the deck for a beer, lunch and the entire afternoon. Sleep overcame me as I stretched out on the large pillows on the deck. This is just what we need after a very busy time in the cities. Till next time Stay Safe - Peppie

Day Two

I was up at 4:38 this morning and decided to come and look for the sun. I made myself comfortable on the wooden couch and looked over the then still dark river. Soon the light started to penetrate the darkness and the red hues became evident on the tips of the clouds that filled the skyline. I just sat and stared at the beauty as the beauty as it was being unveiled. The sun had delivered day tow, soon we shall be off to explore the wonders and beauty of Cambodia.

Day Three
Today was our last day here and we are really sad to be leaving this wonderful place filled with amazing people. After returning from the mountains this afternoon we were treated to an evening of traditional music, dance and singing. We ordered traditional food to go with the atmosphere that we found ourselves in. What an amazing experience. The Cambodian people are so friendly and they take much pride in their traditions.
